MOBILE LAB SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Discover exciting ways to introduce technology into your curriculum! Mobile Lab brings unique programs and informed educators directly into your classroom for two-hour workshop sessions. All Mobile Lab programs are aligned with New York City grade school and middle school curricula and learning standards.

Mobile Lab is available weekdays to schools in the following districts: 1, 2, 3, 13, 14, 15, 17 and 30.

Animation Creations
Grades 3-8
$200 per class (max 25 students)
This fun and creative program gives students the opportunity to collaborate in the production of their very own animated short film. Working in groups of four, students will learn the basic concepts, processes and skills involved in creating the illusion of motion found in animated movies. Using a unique software program, students will be able to create, save and burn their stop motion animated short onto a disc to share with other students or post online.
Umix-It Music Mixing
Grades 3-8
$200 per class (max 20 students)
Computers must be on premises (Apple or PC).

This fun and engaging program encourages students to remix popular songs and create their own unique compositions. Umix-It software makes it easy for students to augment, erase, and add their own tracks to a pre-recorded song, encouraging their creativity and exploring the process of creating and mixing music. Completed re-mixed songs can then be saved and played back on Windows Media Player or Quicktime.
Amazing Automata
Grades 4-7
$200 per class (max 30 students)
Workshop area recommended.

Bring out the inventor in your students! Using simple craft materials, students will have the opportunity to design and build their own mechanical toy. Also known as Automata, these simple self operating machines introduce students to the basic elements of mechanical movement. Students will also have the opportunity to meet the modern day version of a mechanical toy- an autonomous robotic dog known as Aibo.
