FAMILY WORKSHOP: MY PET SNAKE

Watch Dora The Explorer: Fish Out of Water / Go Diego Go: Cool Water For Ana The Anaconda and then stay for a fun hands on workshop where you can make your own slinky snake mobile. You'll also have an opportunity to meet real slithery snakes and other reptiles from the Brooklyn Children's Museum. Especially for our younger audience. No reservation is required and space is limited.
SONY PLAZA PUBLIC ARCADE EVENT: ROBOFEST NYC

Join us for the first annual RoboFest NYC celebration hosted by Vision Ed., Inc. Explore the creative world of robotics and bring out the inventor in every child through this exciting event. RoboFest features a Young Inventors Expo, Dancing with the Robostars and most importantly an opportunity to get involved. SCI-TECH WORKSHOP: SOLAR SPEED RACERS

Celebrate Earth Day with an exploration of solar energy! Discover how energy from the sun is being used to run everything from calculators to satellites. TECH IN THE PLAZA: DECONSTRUCTING THE DVD

2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Unveil the inner workings of your DVD player and discover how it "reads" your digital versatile discs. Learn how lasers, tracking systems, drive motors and all the rest come together to bring the digital image to your screen. Take it apart yourself as museum staff guide you through the process piece by piece. No reservation required and space is limited. Best suited for ages 8 and up.

MIDORI & FRIENDS CHILDREN'S DAY FESTIVAL

1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
As a part of its 15th Anniversary celebration, Midori & Friends will present, in partnership with Sony Wonder Technology Lab, a "Children's Day" event inspired by traditional celebrations of children in Japan. This family–friendly event will begin with hands on workshop activities such as origami followed by musical performances by professional global artists. Discover one of the oldest forms of optical illusion. Phantograms create the impression of 3 dimensions through the manipulation of viewpoint and perspective. Using special software and some creative props you can design your own 3-D digital images to take home.
