Students from the NYU Steinhardt School of Music and Performing Arts work continuously to apply changing technology to the art of music developing projects that engage their imaginations in the process. Experience their latest creations: play an "air guitar" that actually strums, climb a set of monkey bars that double as a sound instrument and explore other unique interactive works. Discover the amazing achievements and skills of students from New York City public schools as they come together to compete in this annual chess tournament. Over 100 students compete for the chance to go on to continue in advanced competitions. Chess in the Schools is a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to stimulating and enhancing learning skills for children through the game of chess. The New York Philharmonic presents their Very Young Composers: students in grades 4 and 5 that compose music with the New York Philharmonic through intensive weekly sessions working with musicians and composer mentors. Discover the secrets to the high tech animation in Spider-Man® 1 and 2 and design your own claymation movie in tribute to the urban hero. Using Sony Vegas Movie Studio, learn the basic techniques behind stop motion animation and edit your work, adding final touches and burning a copy of your short to take home. A registration sign up sheet will be available at the entrance to Sony Wonder Technology Lab 30 minutes prior to the start of the workshop. Workshops are available for individuals and families on a first come first serve basis and space is limited.

With a history of enrolling diverse groups of talented and dedicated students, New York City's Pratt Institute delivers highly skilled and creative individuals. Students studying film animation present their senior thesis projects and share the challenges and techniques they implemented in producing these unique films.
